Care Consultations
Care Consultations include services that assist the person with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias and/or their families in planning for and dealing with all aspects of the disease. The primary focus is one-on-one meetings between family members and agency staff. Care Consultations are conducted by agency staff and are available by telephone, walk-in or appointment basis. During a Care Consultation, the family needs are determined and staff provide intervention techniques to help manage the disease. The sessions provide information about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, community support, and other resources.
The Central Illinois Chapter offers numerous Family Caregiver Education programs throughout our 20-county service area focusing on issues or concerns families face during the disease process. Our organization strives to enhance the quality of life for the person with Alzheimer's, and his/her caregiver by providing education and tools to help manage the disease. Many of our programs are funded by local grants.
