Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Ill., recently held a Memory Flowers fundraiser to support their team for the Knox-Warren Walk to End Alzheimer's. It was a great success! People had fun with it, engaged in some friendly competition, and above all increased awareness about the disease and the Central Illinois Chapter's programs and services.
Staff made a contest out of it and together sold more than 400 paper flowers -- one employee sold 101 herself! Another employee took the flowers to her husband's martial arts studio and sold 100 there. The top seller won a $25 gift card, and the employees in the area that sold the most had a pizza party. The Wall of Flowers that resulted at the nursing home is a visual reminder of the power of their teamwork to support a great cause. The Central Illinois Chapter extends Knox County Nursing Home a warm thanks. The Knox-Warren Walk to End Alzheimer's will be Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Hawthorne Centre gymnasium in Galesburg. It begins at 9 a.m. Visit http://www.alz.org/illinoiscentral/in_my_community_walk.asp to find out more about this walk and the seven others the Central Illinois Chapter hosts, and sign up today! |
