Join us for this sweet event
The Alzheimer’s Association cordially invites you to celebrate our 18th annual Chocolate Sunday, a champagne brunch, silent and live auction and chocolate extravaganza at Noon on Sunday, November 22nd at the Ritz Charles. Chocolate Sunday is rich in culture, cuisine, and a caring community gathered to support the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association.
This year’s honorary host and guest speaker is Mary Ann Becklenberg.
Mary Ann was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2008 at the age of 62. Prior to her diagnosis, she worked as a clinical social worker. She voluntarily left her position because she was no longer able to meet her responsibilities due to Mild Cognitive Impairment.
Mary Ann is currently active with the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter and spoke about her memory loss at the 2007 Merrillville Memory Walk. Mary Ann is also a member of the National Alzheimer's Association Early-Stage Advisory Group. Mary Ann’s objective is to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease so that the general public understands how this disease affects both the person with the disease and his/her family.
Mary Ann and her husband, John, live in Dyer, Indiana, just outside of Chicago.
