Indianapolis, IN 46240Remembering: A Tribute
The Alzheimer’s Association is leading important research, care and support initiatives that are seeking to change the face of Alzheimer’s disease locally and worldwide. In a report made public in March 2012, the Alzheimer’s Association shared there are now an estimated 5.4 million people in the United States living with Alzheimer’s. Someone in America develops Alzheimer’s every 68 seconds.
Alzheimer’s disease is now the sixth leading cause of death in the country. Alzheimer’s is the only cause among the top 10 in the United States without a means to prevent, cure or even slow its progress. Beyond the sheer numbers of lives touched by the disease, Alzheimer’s will also be a financial albatross to the nation’s health care system, surpassing $1 trillion in costs annually by mid-century unless the trajectory of the disease is changed.
However, there is hope. We can make a difference. Please join us in remembering those touched by the disease by making a lasting gift in our campaign-- Remembering: A Tribute. A significant gift will not only impact those living with Alzheimer's disease today, but will also bring much hope for tomorrow.
Those who contribute to Remembering will be recognized through artwork created by artist Cindi Fankhauser. This artwork will be prominently displayed at the Association and across the state. To get involved, you may contribute to one of the three different levels:
