ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION TO PRESENT
WORKSHOP JUNE 17 IN WALLA WALLA

The Alzheimer’s Association-Inland Northwest Chapter is presenting a half-day caregivers workshop June 17 in Walla Walla.

“Alzheimer’s Disease: Latest Research, Medications and Coping with the Challenging Behaviors” will be presented from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the Odd Fellows Home of Washington, 534 Boyer Ave.

Guest speakers will be Dr. Stephen Setter, associate professor with the Washington State University College of Pharmacy, and Joel Loiacono, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association-Inland Northwest Chapter. Setter is one of only 10 Certified Geriatric Pharmacists in Washington and has lectured and published extensively on geriatric pharmacy, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, and managing diabetes and its complications.

The workshop will include an overview of Alzheimer’s disease and the types of dementia; latest treatments and research for Alzheimer’s disease; managing medications; and coping with the challenging behaviors of Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.

Cost of the workshop is $20. A limited number of scholarships are available for family caregivers. For more information, call 520-3077.
