The Davenport Hotel was once again the setting for the Alzheimer’s Association’s 10th annual Nancy Rockwell Gala and Auction on April 9, 2010.
The chapter raised more than $64,000 with "An Evening of Elegance," in the Grand Pennington Ballroom and Hall of Doges at the historic hotel in Downtown Spokane.

A new feature this year was a "candlelight vigil" inspired by the vigil at the U.S. Capitol in March. The indoor vigil used purple glow sticks instead of candles. Board President Pat Johnson spoke of the need for activism in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and Matt Rockwell paid tribute to his mother, for whom the Gala is named.

Bidding was spirited throughout the evening in the silent auction, and auctioneer Phil Harris, a former Spokane County commissioner, and master of ceremonies Randy Shaw, KREM-2 news anchor, kept things lively in the live auction.
