Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event Intern

Reports to:   Development Director

Time Commitment:  10-15 hours/week; May – October (negotiable)

The Alzheimer’s Association – Inland Northwest Chapter is looking for several interns to support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team in planning and delivering successful Walk Events throughout Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. This will be a great opportunity for well-rounded individuals looking for experience in event planning, non-profit support, and fundraising. 

Responsibilities:

• Answer Walk line phone and follow up with questions and inquiries
• Marketing and distribution of Walk materials
• Contact and keep in touch with Walk Captains
• Preparation for day-of logistics
• Delivery of day-of logistics
• Data entry
• Mailings
• Office administration

Qualifications:

• Interest in developing skills related to event-planning and/or fund development
• Commitment to supporting the Alzheimer’s Association mission
• Dependability to be in as scheduled and able to deliver assignments as requested
• Ability to work independently and in cooperation with other interns, Walk team, or other staff as assigned
• Adept communication skills over the phone, via email, and in person
• Basic computer skills including knowledge of Word, Excel, and the use of office equipment
