Memory Walk 2008: On the Move to End Alzheimer’s

More than 450 Eastern Washington residents and 300 North Idaho residents were on the MOVE this fall to end Alzheimer’s disease at at the annual Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk and Doggie Walk.

The two events, at Farragut State Park in North Idaho on Sept. 27 and CenterPlace at Mirabeau Point Park in Spokane Valley on Oct. 4, raised more than $122,000 to support Inland Northwest Chapter programs, support and research.

“The Alzheimer’s Association is very encouraged by the number of Inland Northwest residents who turned out to join the fight against Alzheimer’s disease at this year’s Memory Walk,” said Joel Loiacono, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association-Inland Northwest Chapter. “Alzheimer’s disease has touched the lives of many families in this community. With funds raised at this year’s Walk, the Alzheimer’s Association will provide much needed care and support to people touched by the disease as well as research to fight Alzheimer’s disease.”

The Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk is nationally presented by Genworth Financial.
