The Longest Day
Text Size controlsNormal font sizeMedium font sizeLarge font size

For an individual with Alzheimer's and their caregivers, every day is the longest day. The Alzheimer's Association has created a fundraising event that both symbolizes the daily challenges of Alzheimer's and honors those who battle these challenges daily.

The Longest Day events will be celebrated on the 2018 summer solstice, the longest day of the year, however, Longest Day teams can raise funds in the days and months prior to the Longest Day.

Longest Day Teams:

  • Choose an activity (bowling, softball, bridge, dancing, boating, hiking, bake sale, etc.).
  • Choose a day or series of days to do the activity.
  • Encourage their friends, family, and co-workers to either join them in the activity or make a donation toward their Longest Day team.
  • Celebrate their fundraising efforts on The Longest Day.

Some teams go simple with a Jeans Day at work. Others do something from sunrise to sunset! Each team raises money and awareness for The Longest Day and do so in honor of all those experiencing a longest day, every day.

Registration will begin soon for 2018 Longest Day Teams

For more information about how you can start now on your Longest Day fundraising efforts for 2018, please contact Cassie Wilson at 913.831.3888 or cwilson@alz.org.
