How do ALZ Stars Connect Their Event with the Alzheimer's Association?
ALZ Stars can participate in any independent event. All aspects of the event (registration, training, race details, etc.) are handled directly through the event host organization. ALZ Stars then work directly with Alzheimer's Association Chapter staff on the fundraising component of the event. We can advice you on fundraising goals, provide resources to help you reach your goals, ideas on how to encourage others to join you and, best of all, your own ALZ Stars apparel to wear the day of your race. Contact Trisha McClanahan at 913.831.3888 or trisha.mcclanahan@alz.org to receive your ALZ Stars packet.
The ALZ Stars Team Conquered Hospital Hill
On the morning of June 6th, the members of the first-ever ALZ Stars Team took a huge step in the right direction at the 2009 Hospital Hill Run. This determined group may have started out as strangers but they soon learned they all shared the same passion and they took a united stance in the fight against Alzheimer’s as they ran the hills of downtown Kansas City. In addition to the team's running accomplishment, these amazing sixteen runners also raised $10,350 for the Heart of America Chapter. Thank you to all those who participated and we look forward to running with you next year.
