Let the Rematch Begin
In 2009, two rookie teams took to the field for a competitive, but fun, game of flag football in front of 250 spectators. Even though the Blondes took the inaugural-year game win, the Brunettes aren't taking the loss lightly and are already gearing up for an exciting rematch this year. In addition to a great game, these players and coaches also displayed their fundraising skills by raising more than $22,000 in an effort to defeat Alzheimer's!
Join the 2010 Teams
Put on your cleats and join the Blonde and Brunette teams on the field for the 2010 game. Read about the opportunities below and then logon to the BvB website (coming soon) and register! If you have questions, please contact Nicole Clifford at the Heart of America Chapter at 913.831.3888 or nicole.clifford@alz.org.
Players
Women of all ages and athletic ability are welcome to join the team, but all are required to meet these three requirements to be eligible to play on game day, August 28th:
- Individually fundraise $250 by August 20, 2010. Please feel free to go beyond the minimum!
- Attend a minimum of 4 practices. Practices will begin 6 weeks out from game day.
- Wear your team name hair color on game day (redheads get to choose). Temporary color and wigs are welcome!
Coaches
Are you someone who considers yourself a football guru or a team motivator? If so, we want you to help lead the teams to victory! Coaches, along with the Chapter assigned team captain, will lead practices, coordinate plays and direct game-day play for the team. Each coach is also required to fundraise a minimum of $250 by August 20, 2010.
