Jan Doherty, a retired biologist living in Ohio, will be our guest Keynote Speaker as well as the leader of one of the breakout sessions. Jan, combining two of her passions: health care and gardening, will share “the universal benefits of horticultural therapy.” Jan has been providing horticultural therapy to nursing homes, Alzheimer’s units, and others for the last ten years. You, the serious gardener, and the many caregivers who have never thought about gardening will walk away from this workshop renewed and amazed at the many gifts from gardening. And what is more exciting – you will leave here equipped to provide these gifts to your clients all year. As you learn to incorporate gardening into the daily lives of your clients, you will see stress disappear and new interest develop in your residents, and hope will bloom for you and your residents. Our focus continues to be on the significant role activities play in enhancing the lives of persons with Alzheimer’s/dementia and helping us to understand them and support their capacities. Multiple breakout sessions will offer you numerous ways to incorporate a variety of activities in the lives of the people you love and care for daily.

Cost is $60 per person, $55 for second person from the same facility and $50 for the third person from the same facility. Please register multiple attendees together. No reduction after the third attendee.
