End-of-year Charitable Giving
This past March marked the year anniversary of my mother’s passing from Alzheimer’s disease. All the knowledge I had gained about best practices for families facing this disease in my 14 years with the Association could not ease the pain of her loss. As passionate as my family and I have been about making a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s, I am well aware that there is still much to be done.
Nonetheless, I am convinced that, in my lifetime, we will see a day without this disease and I am hopeful as I think of the thousands of other families in our community who are currently affected by Alzheimer’s. Every year we see more and more families who need our help, and we are able to provide the needed programs and services thanks to donors like you who staunchly support our organization’s mission. One family I would like to particularly acknowledge is the Orscheln family.
The Orscheln Foundation has helped raise more than $80,000 over four years to benefit our Chapter by inviting our supporters to participate in an end-of-year match. I’m pleased to share that they will be continuing this generous challenge by offering to match dollar for dollar up to $5,000 all contributions received in response to this letter. I hope you will continue to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s through a donation or multi-year pledge commitment to the Heart of America Chapter.
Thank you for continuing to stand with my family and the countless others who have been directly impacted by Alzheimer’s disease in our community. With your help we will be closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.
