Join the Cause
The Alzheimer’s Association - Heart of America Chapter invites you to become an Alzheimer advocate. The efforts of Alzheimer advocates have extended the voices of persons with the disease and their families into legislative awareness throughout Kansas and Missouri and into the offices of every U.S. Senator and Representative. Through committee work, letters, phone calls and legislative visits, staff and volunteers advocate for statutory and regulatory reform and promote new legislative action on issues facing those with Alzheimer's disease and those who are their care partners.
Volunteers are always needed for phone and email-tree communication, to visit with individual legislators on both sides of the state line, and to track bills affecting individuals with Alzheimer's disease and their families.
If you have any interest in becoming an Alzheimer's advocate, please call Michelle Niedens at 913.831.3888 or email her at michelle.niedens@alz.org.
