Memory Walk
Our Signature Event that MOVES the Cause Forward

The 2009 Memory Walk season has taken off in high gear as each of the first three walks of the season had record-breaking attendance and, in turn, exceeded their fundraising goals. This excitement, coupled with the energy still felt by the overall success of the 2008 walk season (raising over $480,000), drives us to continue the Memory Walk movement to make our cause known, understood and supported throughout Kansas and Missouri and ultimately throughout the nation.

Join in and help us maintain the momentum! The Heart of America Chapter hosts three more walks this Fall and, with determined walkers, we know we will continue this amazing success. Every walker is another voice for Alzheimer's and every dollar raised enables the Chapter to provide assistance to all those dealing with the struggles of Alzheimer's disease.

Get Involved in Your Local Memory Walk Today
You ask how?

  • Recruitment. Start asking family members, neighbors, colleagues, etc. to join your team. Make sure they get the date on their calendar!
  • Fundraising. Set your goal and plan out how you're going to achieve it. Some fundraisers take time so start early. See Memory Walk Central for ideas.
  • Sponsor. Will your company sponsor the local Walk? It's a great idea to ask. See 2009 Sponsors for sponsorship levels and benefits.
  • Spread the Word. Every community needs assistance in getting the word out about the Walk and the best way to do it is through the walkers. Post information at your workplace, in your faith community, at your local gym, on your facebook, in your email signature...the list goes on and on.
  • Volunteer. Every Walk has a planning committee that is looking for active members to make the event even better as well as volunteers to help on the day of the event. Contact the Walk representative listed below for your community to let them know how you can volunteer.
