Gordon
Annapolis, Md.
Passed away with Alzheimer's: June 2006

Gordon was founder and president of an investment banking and financial advisory services firm. In his lifetime, he earned four degrees, spoke four languages and pursued four passions: climbing, hiking, sailing and fine woodworking. Then he heard four words that changed his life: "You have Alzheimer's disease."

After receiving his diagnosis, Gordon developed another passion: nature photography. Although he didn't get a chance to share his story, his family has generously shared his photographs with us.

More about the photographer:

Mr. Berg received a B.A. degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, an MBA from New York University Graduate School of Business Administration, a degree in banking from The Stonier Graduate School of Banking of the American Bankers Association at Rutgers University and an MTS from Harvard Divinity School.

Mr. Berg spoke Spanish, German, Greek and English. His interests included mountain climbing, hiking, sailing and fine woodworking. After he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Mr. Berg developed an interest in nature photography.
