Volunteer Opportunities
The Alzheimer's Association counts on 35,000 volunteers nationwide. Please join us in helping achieve our vision of creating a world without Alzheimer's disease while optimizing quality of life for people who are affected by Alzheimer's disease. Whether you can spare a couple of hours a week or make a more significant time commitment, we hope you will consider joining this very special community. Volunteer opportunities are available at each of the five office locations in Watertown, Springfield, Worcester, Lowell and Sandwich.

Student Internship
Learn more about non-profit management with a hands-on internship with the Alzheimer's Association. This position is unpaid but offers a valuable learning experience for any college student looking to work in the non-profit sector when he/she graduates.Current internship opportunities -- click for a detailed description:

Communications Internship (.doc)
Special Events (Memory Walk, Golf Tournament, Night at the Pops, etc.)
Assist a member of the special events team with planning, implementing and coordinating one or several of our fundraising special events. Events are held throughout the year and provide the much needed financial support to further the mission of the Alzheimer's Association.
Helpline
The telephone Helpline provides information on all aspects of Alzheimer's disease; referrals to services, professionals and support groups; guidance on patient management and care; and empathic support to families in distress. Volunteers will counsel callers and send out materials that specifically address the needs of the caller, and introduce them to our chapter programs and services. This service is offered free of charge to anyone who calls and training is provided.
Office Support
Bring yourself or a friend and assist our office manager, database manager and receptionist with various duties within the office such as mailings, copying, filing and packet making.
Educational Programs
Assist staff with registration and other aspects of educational programs.
Student Internship

Health Fairs
Promote community awareness and education by representing the Alzheimer's Association at health fairs and exhibit tables at conferences. Distribute information and answer basic questions about chapter services.
Chapter Advocate
Assist the Manager, Advocacy and Community Relations with managing public policy table at special events, health fairs, etc. Create and work with others on ways to include people we serve in setting our public policy goals.
Other
There are many other volunteer opportunities with the Alzheimer's Association. If you have a specific skill like computers, graphic design or are bi-lingual, we will work to accommodate your skill set with a specific volunteer position within the organization.
