Development Manager, Corporate Initiatives - Central Maryland

This full-time exempt position is the primary staff person responsible for driving aggressive corporate engagement and revenue growth as identified in the strategic plan. This person creates and executes strategy to engage and deepen corporate partnerships through employee engagement, increased financial commitment and identification of new relationships. A key responsibility for this person is to meet the annual revenue growth expectations for the Association’s premier corporate and individual donor special event, Memory Ball Gala. This effort requires working closely with, Associate Director, Development Director, Executive Director, Chapter Board and the high level volunteer committee. Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in fundraising. 5 years experience in Galas/Dinners special events required with a proven success in development, marketing, fundraising or related activities; Experience with securing corporate sponsorship; Experience with account portfolio management and/or a track record of sales in relationship-selling environment a plus; Successful experience in coaching volunteers in fundraising activities; Superior motivator (written and verbal) with the ability to encourage others to maximize potential and achieve challenging organization goals; Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and demonstrate inclusion; Strong organizational and task management skills, a strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as a team member; Goal and outcome focused, reflecting a clear appreciation of both the needs of diverse client populations and the organization’s operational limits; Demonstrated management skills, including the ability to set clear goals, organize projects, establish and manage budgets, and develop work processes; Innovative with the requisite skills to implement organization change; Strong awareness of the social, economic, political environment in which the Association operates, since part of its effectiveness is in partnering in the larger community; Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite; Experience with other database or fundraising software a plus, (Training on Convio software provided); Valid driver’s license and functioning, insured car.
