- When you enter the message boards, the first page you will see is the "Message Boards Forum Index."
- At the top of the page, you will see a navigation box where you can access any section of the online community.
- You will also see a table listing all of the forums available. Click on any forum to see the kinds of topics being discussed.
- There are two ways to get involved in discussion. The first is to reply to a discussion that is already in progress. Here is how to do that:
a. If you find a discussion to which you would like to reply, click on the "Reply to this discussion" link that appears in red at both the top and bottom of all discussion pages.
b. A window will pop up with a text box for your response. Once completed, click "Post Now" to post your reply. Your message will appear in the thread, and others can post after you.
- The other way to have a discussion is to start your own thread. Here are the steps to take to start a thread:
a. If you want to start a new discussion, click on the "Start a new discussion or poll" link in the top left corner that appears in red
b. A purple drop-down box will appear. Click on "Discussion" to post a message.
c. A window will pop up with a small box and a large box. Type a title for your message in the small box and your message in the large box.
d. To post your message, click "Post Now." You will see your thread appear in the Message Boards Forum Index, and other members may respond to your new thread.
