A Message Board Forum is a broad topic – e.g., “Caregivers Forum”, under which there can be many discussions. Each discussion page begins with the original posting, and displays all subsequent replies in date order, with the latest reply last.
- Creating a new discussion (or poll):
- Click on the forum you think best matches your discussion topic. Example of some common forums: I have Alzheimer’s Forum, Caregivers Forum, Medications and Treatments for Alzheimer’s forum.

- Click on the “Start a new discussion or poll” link (located at the top left corner).
After clicking on the START A NEW DISCUSSION or POLL button a drop down option will appear.
Click on Discussion is you would like to post a comment, question, your story, or any type of message related to your experience or interests in Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias.
Click on Poll if you would like to poll the members on an issue you are interested in.

- A small window will pop up, with an input box for your message. Above the box are options for formatting the message (e.g., bold, italics). Below the box you will see these three options:
- Notifications. Turn on if you wish to receive an e-mail notice when someone replies to this discussion.
- Signature. Check box to attach the signature you specified in your profile.
- Disable Graemlins. Graemlins are the smiley faces that can be attached to messages.

B. Posting a message on a discussion page:
- Click on the “Reply to this discussion” link (located at both the top and bottom of all discussion pages). While reading a discussion you will find the option to reply. You will find this option when reading a discussion or topic. If you have a comment to make, please hit the Reply button.
After selecting to reply, a window will pop up with a text box for your response. Once completed, hit the POST NOW button on the bottom right corner of the new window.
