Association Expands Services in Greater Lansing Area, Moves to New Location
Association's Capital Area Regional Office now located at Tri-County Office on Aging.
The Alzheimer’s Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter is expanding services in the greater Lansing area to better serve local families. The Association has relocated its Capital Area Regional office to the Tri-County Office on Aging (TCOA), offering a convenient community location for walk-in clients and expanded information and referral services for the entire community. The Association’s new office is located at the Ingham County Human Services Facility, 5303 South Cedar Street, Bldg 1, Lansing, MI 48910. The new telephone number is 517.999.3004 (fax: 517.999.3358).
“We are excited about this opportunity to provide enhanced services to the Lansing community,” said Elizabeth Longley, president and CEO, Alzheimer's Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter. “We have a new office that offers a convenient community location for our clients; new staff that will allow us to increase our information and referral services; and lots of new ideas to share. I encourage area residents to visit our new office and learn more about the extensive network of education and support services that we offer for the local community.”
The Alzheimer’s Association’s move to the TCOA further extends the relationship between the two non-profit agencies, which plan to work collaboratively in the future on both program and fundraising initiatives.
“Our goal in moving to TCOA is to make services more accessible to area families,” Longley said. “We have developed an excellent working relationship with TCOA and look forward to joining forces on a number of fronts in the coming months.”
The Alzheimer’s Association and TCOA co-sponsored a free education series in February for Alzheimer caregivers and will join forces on a charity golf outing that will be held this summer.
“Both agencies will benefit from this collaboration in terms of advocacy and fundraising opportunities, but it is the consumer who will benefit the most,” said Marion Owen, executive director, Tri-County Office on Aging. “It is wonderful to have the Alzheimer’s Association located at TCOA; information and referral services for both agencies will be enhanced by this collaboration.”
The Alzheimer’s Association’s Capital Area Regional office is open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
