EducationFor persons with memory loss, their families and friends, there are classes and webinars to help you understand memory loss, develop a partnership with your doctor and learn skills to make legal and financial plans. This series is designed to meet the information needs of individuals who have received an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, their care partners and professionals. Classes were selected by experienced care partners and range from legal and financial planning to communicating and healthy living. The goal of the series is to help people with dementia and their care partners maintain an optimal level of social, mental and physical health as they encounter new challenges related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Duluth: This series takes place the third Wednesday of each month and runs from May-August 2013. Duluth Schedule St. Cloud: Join us at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church for this series, running January-May 2013. St. Cloud Schedule Twin Cities-East: The current series runs through February-June 2013. Early Stage WorkgroupAs diagnostic tools become more sophisticated and the benefits of early diagnosis recognized, more people are being diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or early Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. The Early Stage Services Work Group is a group of professionals and community members whose goal is to create an early stage memory loss and dementia service continuum to meet the needs of this growing and underserved population. Members attend monthly meetings eager to learn, network, and collaborate together.
