Honoring Washington Monuments

Join us for the 14th Annual Washington Monuments Luncheon on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the J.W. Marriott in Washington, DC. We are pleased to announce our Monument Honorees: Kathleen Matthews, Executive Vice President of Global Communications and Public Affairs at Marriott International and former anchor at WJLA-TV and Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews" and host of NBC's syndicated "The Chris Matthews Show".

In addition, Bob Madigan, WTOP's "Man About Town" will be our emcee and Dr. Marwan Sabbagh, Director of Clinical Research at the Cleo Roberts Center for Clinical Research, Sun Health Research Institute in Arizona will be our guest speaker.

The Washington Monuments Luncheon was created in 1994 to honor an individual or individuals who significantly contributed to the culture, civic, and community life of Washington.

Past Washington Monuments include George Will, The Honorable Sargent Shriver and Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Dr. Dorothy Height, Sharon Percy Rockefeller, CSPAN founder Brian Lamb, Bill Monroe, Wilhelmina Holladay, NBC's Willard Scott, columnist Carl T. Rowan, Edmund S. Muskie, Helen Thomas, Dr. Marjorie Parker, Mark Russell, Elizabeth Campbell, former Mayor Walter Washington, Mrs. Jefferson Patterson, William Raspberry, Marianne Means, Eddie Gallaher, Letitia Baldridge, Dr. James H. Billington and Patrick Hayes.

This signature event of  the Alzheimer's Women's Association for Resources and Education (A.W.A.R.E.) benefits the National Capital Area Chapter and its mission to serve the more than 500,000 individuals, including those diagnosed, their families, and care partners in the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and Suburban and Southern Maryland.

Sponsorship packages are available at $1,800, $3,000, $5,000 and $10,000; individual tickets may be purchased for $125, $250 or $500.

This event regularly sells out, so attendees are encouraged to secure their reservations early!
