In 2004, the Alzheimer’s Association presented its inaugural gala in the nation’s capital to raise the profile of Alzheimer’s and its devastating toll on America’s families and recognize advances in Alzheimer research.

In the past five years, many of our country's most influential and respected political, business, social and philanthropic leaders have come together through the Gala to lead the fight against Alzheimer's.  With their collective support, the National Alzheimer's Gala to date has raised more than $6 million for cutting edge research and critically-needed assistance and services for the more than five million Americans with Alzheimer's and their families and caregivers facing the daily heartbreaking challenges of this dreadful disease.
