Your donation and the donations of others, continue to fund research to find a cure to end this disease and support all those impacted by the disease including families and caregivers. The Alzheimer’s Association has funded more than $200 million in research since 1982 and continues to fund significant and important research every year - all made possible by caring people like you.

By making a donation to our Chapter, you help us to serve the nearly 500,000 people - those diagnosed, their families and caregivers - impacted by Alzheimer’s disease in Northern Virginia, suburban Maryland and the Washington, D.C. region.

Our Chapter ranks in the top 14 among all Alzheimer’s Association chapters for the number of requests for:

• information and referral services
• care and counseling consultations
• education and training programs and
• support group programs.

Here are some ways your donation helps:
$10 – Informational materials
Enables the mailing of two care packages with helpful information to families in need.

$25 – Educational conferences & seminars
Allows one person to attend a caregivers or professionals training conference.

$50 – 24/7 Helpline
Provides reliable information and support during three crisis calls. (We receive nearly 5,000 calls annually, ranging from 20 to 40 minutes in duration.) We are here if and when you need us!

$100 – Safety programs
Supports two people in MedicAlert® + Alzheimer's Association Safe Return®, a 24-hour response service for wandering and medical emergencies.

$200 – Help from a care consultant
Provides Alzheimer care consultation to aid a caregiver in distress during the middle of the night.

$500 – Critical research to find a cure
Helps fund outreach for securing participants in clinical studies and clinical trials. We are in dire need of people to participate in these programs to support and validate the work of our researchers. Without this essential aspect, research will never get approved by tbe Food and Drug Administration.
