We offer several educational programs for families and individuals facing Alzheimer's, as well as community members.  Most of these programs, described below, are free of charge.  If you would like to schedule a program, please contact us at:

Family caregiver series

Know the 10 signs:  The warning signs of Alzheimer's disease are often dismissed as side effects of normal aging.  This one hour presentation teaches the importance of early detection and the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's disease.

The Basics of Alzheimer's disease:  A one hour presentation which teaches how the brain works and how Alzheimer's disease affects it.  It goes into detail on how the disease progresses, the importance of an early diagnosis and what is currently available for the affected person.

Conversations about Dementia:  This workshop will offer tips on how to have honest and caring conversations with family members on matters such as:  going to the doctor, deciding when to stop driving and making legal and financial plans.

Alzheimer's Workplace Alliance

The Alzheimer's Workplace Alliance (AWA) is a group of nearly 2,000 leading companies and organizations that have stepped up as leaders in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.  As AWA Corporate Champions, they support their employees, customers, members and other stakeholders with resources, tools an information on Alzheimer's disease, the nation's sixth-leading cause of death.

The AWA provides companies and organizations with complimentary resources for their employees who are caring for a person with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia.

Staying Safe:  Steps to Take for a Person with Dementia
Safety is paramount when caring for a person living with Alzheimer's or a related dementia.  This session will explore the most crucial safety measures to enhance peace of mind, addressing such topics as home modifications, wandering, medication management, driving, and more.

Holiday Tips for Caregivers
Preparation for the holidays can be stressful even under the best of circumstances.  For families and caregivers of individuals with dementia, the holidays can present challenges.  Learn how to plan for a great holiday experience, appropriately engage a person with dementia and extended family, what gifts you might provide, and much more during this session.

Communications and Behaviors:  A Caregiver's Toolbox
Learn how to build your caregiver toolbox!  During this session, participants will learn how to better understand and address the ways dementia affects a person's behavior and ability to communicate.
