"Away from Her" draws moviegoers into the world of Alzheimer's

"Away from Her" stars Julie Christie as a woman slipping away to Alzheimer's, and the impact it has on the relationship with her husband of almost 50 years, played by Gordon Pinsent. The ensemble cast includes Olympia Dukakis and Michael Murphy as a couple also grappling with dementia.

Actress Sarah Polley adapted the screenplay for "Away From Her" from Alice Munro's short story "The Bear Came Over the Mountain." She also made her directorial debut with the film.

Sarah Polley and Olympia Dukakis are also lending their support as Alzheimer champions in our new consumer education campaign. Learn more about the campaign at www.actionalz.org
