About us

The Alzheimer’s Association New Hampshire Office

Our mission
To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Our vision
A world without Alzheimer's disease.

Background
The Alzheimer's Association opened its doors in 1980 and we have been serving families throughout the nation for over 27 years. In New Hampshire, the Alzheimer’s Association has been actively working to meet the needs of families and professionals for almost 20 years. In the Spring of 2007, the Alzheimer’s Association moved it’s office from Concord to Bedford and the New Hampshire office joined up with the Massachusetts Chapter to manage the delivery of programs and services to the 20,000 New Hampshire families living with Alzheimer’s. We have a fully staffed office of professionals ready to work with you.

National Association
We are proud to be a strong affiliate of the national Alzheimer's Association, the largest non profit organization dedicated to supporting families and professionals and working to find effective treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. There are 80 chapters of the Alzheimer's Association throughout the nation, enabling us to assist families, wherever they live.

Research
The Alzheimer's Association is the largest private investor in innovative research related to Alzheimer's and related disorders. The Alzheimer's Association has a highly regarded scientific program. Working with thousands of expert reviewers around the globe, we provide millions of dollars in research grants every year. The Alzheimer's Association also sponsors the largest international research conference on Alzheimer's. In addition, the Association works to educate the public about exciting developments in the research community. We have published an online guide to participating in research trials. This is also available in hard copy by calling our Helpline.

Programs
We have a wide array of programs and services available to people with Alzheimer’s, family care partners and professionals working in the field of dementia care. From our 24/7 Helpline to our Care Consultation services to Safe Return, Support Groups, Advocacy and to Training for Professionals, there are many ways that we can be of assistance. See our listing under Helping Caregivers and Professional Training for more information.

Support
You can support the Alzheimer’s Association in many ways. Become a volunteer or an advocate, help with one of our fundraising events like Memory Walk, or just help us spread the word about our cause. Contact our Bedford office for more information.
