On Friday, April 12, 2013, the Alzheimer’s Association held the “Memories Should Last a Lifetime” benefit gala at the exquisite Pleasantdale Château, in the historic Eagle Rock Preserve in West Orange, New Jersey. This unique event celebrated life, memories, and hope for the future in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Guests enjoyed an elegant cocktail hour and dinner, exciting entertainment and danced the night away to the fabulous music of the Infernos Band. The evening also featured a silent auction, with an impressive selection of items, including trips, autographed sports memorabilia, exclusive golf outings, and dinner entertainment packages. Guests were treated to several spectacular dancing routines performed by professionals from Dance With Me Studios, co-founded by Maksim Chmerkovskiy of ABC's Dancing With the Stars. We also presented the 2012 Circle of Honor Awards, our chapter’s most prestigious recognition given annually by the Board of Directors. The recipients were OritaniBank Foundation for Foundation of the Year, and Rosita McGovern for the Advocacy Award. Each recipient demonstrated exceptional commitment to our mission and made a tremendous impact on the lives of New Jersey residents struggling with Alzheimer’s disease. The “Memories Should Last a Lifetime” spring benefit helped us raise vital funds for medical and scientific research and local care and support programs for New Jersey Alzheimer’s disease individuals and their families.
