Alzheimer’s Patch Study

Global Early-stage Research Study to Evaluate an Investigational Medication for Early-Stage Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s Research Study Currently enrolling Alzheimer’s patients for a 12-week research study of an investigational study drug for Alzheimer’s disease. The ideal study participant has been diagnosed with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease and is not currently taking a prescription medication for Alzheimer’s. Transportation can be arranged.

Alzheimer’s Disease Research Study Alzheimer’s patients taking Aricept may qualify to receive an investigational medication for Alzheimer’s disease.  The medication and study-related medical care are provided at no cost, and patients who complete the clinical trial may receive up to $500.

Severe Alzheimer’s Research Study Now conducting a clinical research study in severe Alzheimer’s disease.  The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug. Study participants must be 50+ with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and have a caregiver who is willing to be involved in the study and supervise treatment.  All patients will receive study medication and study-related care with a physician at no cost.  Compensation for time and travel may also be available.

Alzheimer’s Disease Clinical Study Now conducting a clinical research study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug for Alzheimer’s disease in men and women with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease.  You or the person in your care (subject) be eligible to participate if the subject is at least 50yrs. old, has been diagnosed with probable Alzheimer’s disease or believes they may have Alzheimer’s disease and if subject lives at home or is community-dwelling and has an appropriate caregiver who can accompany him or her on all study clinic visits and can visit him or her daily.  All study-related visits, medical evaluation, and investigational drug will be provided to study participants at no cost.

New Brain Imaging Study Stanford university is seeking volunteers with Alzheimer’s disease, and terminally ill volunteers without significant memory loss, for a new study aimed at improving the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease.  Participants receive comprehensive brain imaging scans, compensation for their time, and an optional postmortem brain exam.

Research Study on Depression and Aging The Over 60 Program at UCSF is currently enrolling participant’s ages 65+ who are experiencing symptoms of depression and memory loss for a 12-month research study on depression and aging.  Volunteers, who are willing to complete tests of memory and concentration, as well as answer questions about their health and mood, will be compensated with $140.  Some volunteers will also have the opportunity to have an MRI scan of their brain.  Transportation can be arranged.

iCare Project

iCare is a DVD/online video training that build skills and stimulate practice, which may encourage training participation, enable user interaction, and promote better assimilation of concepts.

Photozig, Inc. seeks caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease or other type of dementia to participate in the evaluation of a new stress management skills training program (iCare), funded by the National Institute on Aging, and designed to help to enhance caregivers’ skills to deal with demanding tasks of caregiving (ultimately leading to alleviate stress and improve quality of life).

iCare is a DVD/online video training that build skills and stimulate practice, which may encourage training participation, enable user interaction, and promote better assimilation of concepts.

Qualified participants will test the new training program at no charge, and there will be additional monetary compensation ($50) for participation. We will ask participants to provide their opinion on the DVD, web site and workbook in a single meeting with us (about 1.5-2 hour). We expect to mail the materials to participants in September 2010, and have meetings in October 2010.
