2016 Blondes vs. Brunettes
May 14, 2016
The Western Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association held its fourth Annual Blondes vs. Brunettes flag football game on Saturday, May 14th, 2016 at Revolution Park in Charlotte, NC. This year’s organizers raised over $53,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Blondes vs. Brunettes® is a local volunteer-driven active event for women that brings the passion and spirit of young community leaders together to support the Alzheimer’s Association. The event concept is organized around a flag football game in which the two participating teams are divided based on the age-old rivalry between blondes and brunettes.
“This event was important to start in Charlotte because our parents are the baby boomers that will be affected by Alzheimer's,” states Amy Pickard, co-founder Blondes vs Brunettes Charlotte and Blondes team quarterback. “As this event grows each year it becomes clearer how many people are personally affected. Everyone involved is fighting for a cure and many are fighting for a family member.”
The funds raised through Blondes vs. Brunettes benefit the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
