Our fall 2008 caregiver seminar will feature Ms. Nancy Pearce, MS, LISW. The seminar will be held in Waco on Thursday, November 6 and will be repeated in Hurst on Friday, November 7. Ms. Pearce will be the featured speaker at both locations.
Ms. Pearce is a medical social worker with over 20 years of experience in working in long-term healthcare and hospice settings. In her practice, she integrates her educational research foundations with understandings from both her work experience and studies in spiritual and religious wisdom traditions. Ms. Pearce specializes in working with persons who have dementia and teaches families, friends, and professionals, both nationally and internationally, how to communicate and connect effectively with persons with dementia.
Ms. Pearce has authored the book, Inside Alzheimer's: How to Hear and Honor Connections with a Person who has Dementia. Copies of the book wil be available to purchase at the seminar. Continuing education credits are approved for the following disciplines: Assisted Living Administrators (6 continuing education clock hours), Long-Term Care Administrators (6 continuing education clock hours), Social Workers (.6 continuing education units), Activity Professionals and Nurses (Type 1).
