Professional Symposium

This activity is supported in part by a generous grant from 
the New York State Department of Health.

This Professional Symposium will offer insight and guidance on the neuropsychiatric symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and dementia and will address some specific behavioral symptoms that are commonly encountered within these diagnoses. Participants will hear from a panel of experts in the field of Alzheimer's and dementia care as they share perspectives, and best practices into effective care planning, behavior management strategies, regulatory compliance, and facility policy. Panelists will include a Neurologist, a Neuropsychiatrist, an Administrator, an Alzheimer's disease expert and a family caregiver.

SW CEUs, ADM CEUs and LMHC CEUs will be available. Pre Registration Required.
(1.5 hours per discipline)

Social Work Continuing Education hours are available through a partnership with University at Albany School of Social Welfare. University at Albany, School of Social Welfare is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0011.

This educational offering has been reviewed by the National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) and approved for 1.50 clock hours and 1.50 participant hours.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor Continuing Education hours are available through a partnership with UAlbany School of Social Welfare and School of Education. University at Albany, School of Social Welfare & School of Education, Continuing Education Program is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors. #MHC-0039
