Meet me at TMA: An Art Museum Experience for Visitors with Early Stage Memory Loss
In an exciting collaboration with the Toledo Museum of Art, "Meet Me at TMA" is a new monthly program designed to provide a fun, meaningful museum experience for visitors with early stage memory loss. Friends and family are welcome to attend.

"An Afternoon Out" group in Mansfield area
A new "afternoon out" group for socialization and fun is starting up in Mansfield for individuals with memory loss and other family, friends and guests. If there is interest,this will become a monthly afternoon out with plans to match the participants' interests (such as socializing, reminiscing, other activities). Anticipatory Grief: Understanding Past, Present and Future Losses This program will help caregivers who are considering moving someone into a care facility in addition to those who have placed a family member or friend in a care facility, or who are currently caring for someone with a progressive illness to: understand anticipatory grief, acknowledge the many losses associated with chronic illness, improve communication and more. This program is hosted by Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter. Advance registration is requested. "Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter" Film Viewing and Discussion
Families dealing with dementia and related behavioral symptoms, or considering long-term care placement, will want to see this film, documenting a mother's Alzheimer's disease and her daughter's response to the changes in her mother. "Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter" is an authentic chronicle. It is informative, entertaining, and presented with profound insight and a healthy dose of humor. A discussion will follow the film. This workshop will provide support and information for persons experiencing mild memory loss from Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder. HBO's The Alzheimer's Project- Film Viewing and Discussion
Two segments of the four-part series will be shown. "Caregivers" highlights the sacrifices and successes of people who experience the changes in the persons they are caring for. "Grandpa, Do You Know Who I am? With Maria Shriver" captures what it means to be a child or grandchild of someone who has dementia. This program is presented by the Hancock County Dementia Coalition.

In this short film, several person who have early stage Alzheimer's talk openly about the impact of the disease on their lives, about their feelings, and about how they are coping. The openness of the participants help to eliminate the stigma which often surrounds Alzheimer's disease. A discussion will follow the film viewing. This program is especially good for person who are experiencing mild memory impairment and want to learn more about dementia.

Memory and Aging: What's Normal, What's Not
If you would like to learn more, or are concerned about your own or someone else's memory, this program will interest you.
