The Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter sponsors support groups for caregivers and people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease at many locations and at no charge.

We attempt to keep our directory up-to-date, but groups do change. For the most current information and to discuss any concern, call or email Wendy Panken, LCSW, Support Group Manager at 646.744.2917 or WPanken@alznyc.org.

Before joining a group, we highly recommend you:

  • Call the support group leader and schedule a personal interview. This gives you an opportunity to ask questions to be sure the group is right for you.
  • Select only one group and attend 3 meetings before deciding if it is right for you.
  • Attend an Understanding Dementia Meeting. Call the 24 hour HELPLINE at 800-272-3900 to sign–up for a meeting
  • If you are interested in support group leader training, please click here.
