The Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter sponsors support groups for caregivers and people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease at many locations and at no charge.

Researchers, Marketing and Media Professionals: DO NOT contact support group leaders or members before contacting Matt Kudish at

Call our 24-hr Helpline at 800-272-3900 to get the most up-to-date information on support groups.

Before joining a group, we highly recommend you:

  • Call the support group leader and schedule a personal interview. This gives you an opportunity to ask questions to be sure the group is right for you.
  • Select only one group and attend 3 meetings before deciding if it is right for you.
  • Attend an Understanding Dementia Meeting. Call the 24-hour HELPLINE at 800-272-3900 to sign–up for a meeting.
