Your Legacy: Planned Giving & Bequests


BEQUESTS: By remembering the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter in your will, you can have a significant impact on improving the quality of care for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Your bequest may have estate tax planning benefits as well. The following is sample bequest language for discussion with your attorney:

I, __________________________(city, state, zip), give, devise and bequeath to the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter, with offices located at 360 Lexington Avenue, 4th Floor, New York, New York 10017 (insert written amount of gift, percentage of the estate, or residuary of estate, or description of property) to be used for (insert: “its unrestricted use” or “name of NYC Chapter Program” or “research program”.)

LIFE INSURANCE AND RETIREMENT PLANS:
You may also choose to remember the Alzheimer's Association, NYC Chapter by naming the Chapter the beneficiary of your Retirement Plan or Insurance Policy.

MATCHING GIFTS: Your company may have a matching gifts program. Matching gifts can double or even triple your contribution. Please contact your company's Human Resources Department to see if your company is eligible.

CORPORATE GIVING: Payroll deductions, matching gifts, and event sponsorships are ways to support the Chapter.

PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS: If your employer conducts an employee contribution program through the United Way or one of the other federated campaigns, please remember to designate the Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter on your campaign form.

Other Ways to Give


DONATE A VEHICLE: A professionally licensed, bonded and insured towing company will pick-up your vehicle donation and provide you with a receipt. Start the process online.

APPRECIATED SECURITIES: Gifts such as stocks or bonds may offer substantial tax advantages. A full fair market value deduction is allowed provided the security has been held more than one year (long term capital gain property); otherwise, the deduction is limited to the donor's adjusted tax basis.

Community Health Charities and the Combined Federal Campaign

The Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter is a member of the Community Health Charities federation, the largest workplace giving campaign devoted to health. If your employer participates in Community Health Charities campaigns, designate your contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association.
