Alzheimer's disease


Our volunteers are passionate, inspired and want to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Please join us! Whether you can spend a few hours a week or make a more considerable commitment of your time, we hope you’ll consider joining our community of volunteers.

Please contact the individuals listed below to learn more about how you can get involved with the New York City Chapter. Our offices are located across the street from Grand Central Terminal at 60 East 42nd Street, NYC 10165.

Volunteer opportunities

Advocacy
Assist our Advocacy Manager with outreach and public policy goals with local, state and national officials.

Education & Programs
Help us reach the communities you care about by making presentations and providing information and referral services at neighborhood events, community centers, faith-based organizations, and in the chapter office. Lead groups to support individuals with Alzheimer's, adult caregivers and others. Assist with administrative office activities, including data management, materials fulfillment, marketing and communications efforts. Please complete our brief survey to identify your areas of interest, expertise, and availability.

Communications
Help with public relations, including writing press releases and helping to update excel databases of media outlets, reporters and audience metrics. Assist with social media and digital promotions. Good writing, editing, phone and computer skills required. Email: fjdavies@alz.org

Special Events
Volunteers participate in a variety of ways with special events including helping  out on day-of-event tasks and being on the committees that assist with planning logistics, securing sponsorship, preparing packets, making calls, and working on recruitment. Email koreilly@alz.org

The Longest Day ®
Volunteer and join The Longest Day to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care, and support. Volunteers can participate as an individual, form a team and organize a work group to assist on committees that implement the planning and coordination of individual fundraising events. Volunteers may be needed as day-of-event to support staff with miscellaneous tasks. Email ldenardo@alz.org

Walk to End Alzheimer’s ®
Volunteer and join the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care, and support. Volunteers assist on committees that implement the planning and coordination of our four Walk to End Alzheimer’s events. Volunteers are also needed on day-of-event to support staff with miscellaneous tasks. Email koreilly@alz.org
