Foundations of Dementia Care: Training for Healthcare Professionals & Careworkers The Foundations of Dementia Care Campaign for Quality Residential Care training is available in Orange County! This innovative educational program is designed for care-giving staff of Assisted Living Residences, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Home Health, Hospice, Home Care and other care providers. Developed in collaboration with leading national health and senior care organizations, this training stresses the importance of better care through better understanding of dementia, and creating connections between caregivers and those they serve. Practical, problem-solving approaches to the challenges of dementia care are taught with hands-on opportunities to practice new skills aimed at improving the quality of life and quality of care for individuals living with dementia.
*All classes are held from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm Certificates for twelve (12) hours of dementia care training will be awarded to students. To better equip family caregivers, we are offering a specialized class series, entitled "The Savvy Caregiver." The Savvy Caregiver Program provides families the clinical-level training that professionals receive. The 12-hour training, provided over a six-week period, results in caregivers who possess greater confidence, understanding and practical skills. Those completing this nationally acclaimed course gain:

Faith-Centered Resource Liaison Training The Faith-Centered Resource Liaison serves as a link between the faith community and the Alzheimer's Association Orange County Chapter. These volunteers provide general information about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and refer congregants to the Alzheimer's Association for education, resources and emotional support. Individuals interested in this work should be members in good standing in their faith community, able to maintain confidentiality and have a genuine compassion for individuals and families dealing with memory loss. If you have an interest in possibly becoming a Faith-Centered Resource Liaison, please consider joining us at the next training meeting.
