Foundations of Dementia Care
The Foundations of Dementia Care Campaign for Quality Residential Care training is available in Orange County! This innovative educational program is designed for care-giving staff of Assisted Living Residences, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Home Health, Hospice, Home Care and other care providers. Developed in collaboration with leading national health and senior care organizations, this training stresses the importance of better care through better understanding of dementia, and creating connections between caregivers and those they serve. Practical, problem-solving approaches to the challenges of dementia care are taught with hands-on opportunities to practice new skills aimed at improving the quality of life and quality of care for individuals living with dementia.

Alzheimer's Disease and Sundowner's Syndrome

The Alzheimer's Association is a licensed provider of continuing education, and all courses are approved in California by RCFE, CA Board of Registered Nursing for RN/LVN and CA Board of Behavioral Sciences for LCSW/MFT. This program is generously funded by a grant from the Unihealth Foundation, in collaboration with the CSUN Gerontology Program and the Alzheimer's Association.
Know the 10 Signs of Alzheimer's Disease Early Detection Matters Learn more about memory loss, the importance of early detection of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, and what can be done to help people and families living with dementia. This program is free of charge.

Faith-Centered Resource Liaison Training The Faith-Centered Resource Liaison serves as a link between their faith community and the Alzheimer's Association Orange County Chapter. These volunteers provide general information about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and refer congregants to the Alzheimer's Association for education, resources and emotional support.
Individuals interested in this work should be members in good standing in their faith community, able to maintain confidentiality, and have a genuine compassion for individuals and families dealing with memory loss.

Memories in the Making® - Alzheimer's Art Program
Memories in the Making is the signature art program of the Alzheimer's Association Orange County Chapter. For many years, Memories in the Making has been recognized locally for its ability to elevate the quality of life for people suffering from Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Art offers a non-verbal alternative to verbal communication through pictures. When Alzheimer’s steals their words, art offers an important opportunity for the expression of memories and emotions. There are no pre-requisites for this program; trainings are open to anyone interested in learning how to use art as a communication tool for individuals with dementia and related disorders.
