Go Purple!

World Alzheimer’s Day is Monday, September 21st. Go Purple for the day! You can wear your purple and eat it too. Here are some ways you can get involved.
Purple Pioneers
Wake up early with us and wear your purple gear to Pioneer Courthouse Square. We’ll be at the Square from 5:00am to 7:00am during the KGW Northwest NewsChannel 8 @ Sunrise broadcast. Be a pioneer and help us raise awareness for World Alzheimer’s Day. Contact Kate Dyer-Seeley at 503-416-0202 or kate.dyer-seeley@alz.org for more information.
Purple People Eaters
That’s right for one day only you can eat your purple too. Cupcake Jones is going purple for the day featuring an Alzheimer’s purple cupcake—the tastiest part is that 50% of the purple cupcake sales will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. Cupcake Jones owner, Lisa, lost her stepfather to Alzheimer's. On September 21 the store will honor him with a special cupcake called "Virgil's Purple". A delicious way to support the cause, think white chocolate cupcake with marionberry buttercream icing. YUM! Swing by the store to pick up a dozen to share with your co-workers or bring home for an after dinner treat. Pre-orders welcome just visit Cupcake Jones.
Go Purple in your workplace
Encourage employees to wear purple, dress down or wear jeans in exchange for a small donation (usually $5) to the Alzheimer's Association. Display your commitment to the cause by wearing our symbol. Really want to go purple? Consider decking out the office with purple and changing your email font to purple for the day.
