The Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Pennsylvania Chapter raised more than $865,000 during Memory Walk 2008 held throughout September and October at 20 different sites throughout the state. All money raised through Memory Walk goes to support the Chapter’s Education programs, Helpline, support groups, advocacy and family services.
“More than 5,900 members of the community turned out to join the fight against Alzheimer’s disease,” said Bob Le Roy, President/CEO of the Greater PA Chapter. “With this outstanding support the Alzheimer’s Association can continue to create vital programs and services for families affected by the disease. By the overwhelming involvement we saw from the community, we are confident that individuals will continue to take part in healthy aging, learn more about the disease and stay active in the fight to conquer Alzheimer’s.”
