The consortium also invites representatives from academic institutions and regulatory agencies to appropriate meetings. Tackling common barriers of Alzheimer researchThe Research Roundtable is a prestigious group working together to accelerate the progress of Alzheimer research and drug discovery by identifying common challenges and sharing expertise across member organizations. Convened by the Alzheimer’s Association in 2002, the mission of the Research Roundtable is: “To facilitate the development and implementation of new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease by collectively addressing obstacles to research and development, clinical care and public health education.” Thriving in a collegial atmosphereThis innovative forum also provides members the opportunity to network with one another in a collegial environment. The full Research Roundtable holds two face-to-face meetings annually as well as via regular teleconferences. Subcommittees on such hot topics as mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers also hold teleconferences and schedule periodic in-person meetings featuring presentations by members and invited speakers.
