Oh What A Night!
Thanks to our sponsors, co-chairs and committee members, donors, attendees, volunteers, and in-kind contributors who made the 8th Annual Capital City Auction at Roger Williams Park Botanical Center on March 10th a success.
It was a beautiful setting for our signature event in March. This is the second time we hosted an event at the Botanical Gardens and we always receive rave reviews. The Preview Party was enhanced this year by our in-kind contributors with the delicious pork tacos from 1149 Restaurant, a wonderful display of cheese from Chef Bart Morton from Albion Court and Champagne compliments of City Liquors.
The rest of evening unfolded with bidding on an assortment of creative packages – there was truly something for everyone. We also want to thank Cozy Caterers and Diamond Hill Vineyards for the gourmet cuisine and wine tasting.
For the live auction, Tony Petrarca, WPRI Meteorologist, encouraged the audience to bid on all of the wonderful trips, tickets, and dinners. The RI Chapter staff even got in on the action by offering a “Lobstermania for 8” dinner with all the fixings to be prepared in your home. The highest bid of the evening was $1800 for an 8-night trip to Cancun with airfare. We also would like to thank Mayor Angel Taveres and Mike Montecalvo and family for stopping by to say a few words and place a bid.
It was a fabulous night and we raised over $36,000 to support Rhode Island families suffering the effects of Alzheimer’s disease.
