Capital City Auction
March 12, 2009
A heartfelt thanks to all of the attendees, participants, sponsors, volunteers, businesses, and in-kind contributors who made our 7th Annual Capital City Auction such a huge success. We raised over $47,000 - more than ever before – thank you, thank you!!!
Channel 12 Meteorologist Tony Petrarca did a fantastic job encouraging bidders to increase their bids. This year for the first time we had an open bid for a specific program called Live & Learn, and we raised almost $8,000 to sustain the program here in Rhode Island. Thanks, Tony for your continued support and dedication to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Many thanks to Carrabba’s staff and vendors who donated most of the food, beer, and wine that was served at the auction this year. As always, we received several wonderful comments about the delicious food.
Proceeds from the auction directly support Rhode Island families dealing with the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease. The auction was a great success again thanks to our generous contributors. The proceeds are an important revenue source for our chapter to assist persons with Alzheimer’s disease and their families.
