2008 Memory Walk - Thank You!
Thank you for another successful Alzheimer's Association Rhode Island Chapter Memory Walk on September 28, 2008.
The rain did not dampen the spirits of the 750 walkers in Providence and the 250 walkers in Newport on September 28th for our 16th Memory Walk. We could not have reached our goal of $265,000 without the support of our sponsors, teams, walkers, donors, volunteers, and in-kind contributors.
For the second year in a row, we had 100 percent Board participation. Our board members set an example for leadership and commitment, and we are so grateful for all that they do throughout the year.
Memory Walk is our major fundraiser of the year and pays for services that we provide to families and healthcare professionals throughout Rhode Island. “Because of the outpouring of support from Rhode Island residents, we are better able to provide important services to Alzheimer’s families in our community,” said Elizabeth Morancy, Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Association RI Chapter.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, forming a team for next year, or would like to volunteer for the Memory Walk committee, please contact the Chapter office 421-0008.
Thanks again to our Platinum Sponsor, Briarcliffe Manor.
Please be patient with the Rhode Island Chapter as we continue to update team totals for this year's walk. The Kintera site will continue to be updated over the next several weeks.
