The Basics: An Orientation to Dementia & Memory Loss

Offered to care partners and family members for an overview of mild cognitive impairment, memory loss and various dementias, including Alzheimer's disease.  Learn about the signs and symptoms, the diagnostic process, issues to consider and services available. Learn More>>

Care Consultations

The San Diego Chapter offers free Care Consultations to help families navigate the decisions and uncertainties that persons with dementia and their families face at every stage of the disease.  Care consultants are available in person or over the phone to assist with planning, problem solving, referrals to community resources and emotional support. Education Classes

We offer a variety of educational programs to the community.  These classes are designed for individuals facing Alzheimer's as well as their families.  All classes and workshops are free of charge unless otherwise stated.  Our classes help participants understand the disease, what to expect, how to promote brain healthy living and proven strategies to assist families in planning and coping.  Learn More>>

Take Charge! Early Memory Loss Program

A 7-week educational support program for persons with early stage memory loss and their care partners.  Learn More>>


C.L.U.B (Connections Laughter Unity Bonding) is a monthly social engagement program for persons in the middle stages of dementia and their care partner. Learn More>>

Caregiver Support & Discussion Groups

These meetings are free and open to all caregivers & family members of individuals with dementia. All groups listed are co-sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association and are in compliance with Chapter and National Standards. MedicAlert® + Safe Return®

MedicAlert® + Alzheimer's Association Safe Return® is a nationwide identification, support and enrollment program that provides assistance when someone with Alzheimer's or a related dementia wanders and becomes lost. Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If an enrollee is missing, one phone call immediately activates a community support network to help reunite the lost person with his or her caregiver. Learn More>>

Memories in the Making® Art Program

A program of creative art expression which allows people with Alzheimer's and related memory loss the opportunity to express their memories and emotions through painting. Learn More>>

Walk n' Talk

The Alzheimer’s Association has partnered with Walkabout International to provide “Walk ‘n Talk,” a monthly guided walking program.  Walks will meet at various locations around San Diego County and offer individuals living with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia and those caring for them to take a break, meet new people while enjoying some fresh air and exercise!
