Take Charge! Early Memory Loss Program

Learning about your diagnosis and acknowledging your feelings is the first step towards empowering yourself to Take Charge of your life and make decisions that will help you live well with dementia. This program is a unique opportunity for persons living with early stage memory loss to come together with their care partners (friends or family) for a 8-week educational support series.

Participants will learn about:
  • Alzheimer’s Association programs and services, community resources
  • Developing your care team
  • Understanding  Alzheimer’s and
    other dementias
  • Medications and partnering with your doctor
  • Legal planning
  • Effective communication, coping with emotions and sharing your diagnosis
  • Maximizing independence and maintaining safety, strategies for daily living 
  • Research update, clinical trials and future approaches

A brief interview is required for enrollment. Please contact Kelly Rein, MSW: 858-966-3291 to schedule an interview.

Early Stage Connections

Get out, get active and get connected! Early Stage Connections offers a comfortable way to have fun and socialize with others who are living in the early stage of Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia.

Picturing Our Past at Museum of Photographic Arts
A hands-on exploration of the history of antique and vintage photographs. Learn tips and tricks to keep cherished family photographs safe for generations to come! Bring a few of your old photographs to share with the group.

Take in the sunshine as we tour the "Fall Garden" and bring out your creativity with a seasonal craft.
