Memories in the Making® Art Auction - A Huge Success!
Thank you to everyone who attended and generously supported the 17th Annual Memories in the Making® Art Auction. The evening was a vibrant celebration shared with award-winning local artists, friends of the Association and individuals touched by Alzheimer’s disease.
Close to 300 guests enjoyed a silent and live auction, delicious culinary stations and contemporary acoustic music by Ottopilot at the elegant Fairbanks Ranch Country Club. The evening’s auctions featured beautiful artworks created by individuals with Alzheimer's or a related dementia as well as inspired pairing artworks by local professional artists. The Association is proud to announce that the evening raised nearly $100,000 to support crucial programs and services for families battling Alzheimer’s and to advance research for a cure.
The evening was a tremendous success thanks in great part to our amazing Event Chairs: Sarah Burton-Hawkins, Bettina Hahn Osborne, Barbara Mulligan, Tammy Rooke and Cree Scudder as well as our Founding Chair, Darlene Shiley.
Memories in the Making® is a unique program offered by the Alzheimer’s Association for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia to express themselves through art. Through the creative process of painting, these individuals are able to communicate, offering us the essence of themselves. The art they produce is a tangible means of expression, which speaks to the families, the professional caregivers and to the public.
