TIME FOR US is a great camping opportunity for teens from 13 to 16 years of age at Lutherdale Adventure Camp in Elkhorn, WI, who have a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or a similar diagnosis. While most of each day is spent on fun camp activities, a portion of the time will be spent helping teens understand the many types of dementia, communication and daily life issues, and more. Campers will gain knowledge, coping skills, peer support and relationships that may assist them for years to come.
The camp is sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association South Central Wisconsin Chapter and forMemory, a network of persons affected by early memory challenges.
We welcome persons of all faiths and world views. TIME FOR US activities take place of Lutherdale’s Bible study time. There is an optional short interfaith prayer at common meals.
The 2009 camp is now closed. Please contact us regarding availability for a summer of 2010 camp.
