Our vision for the future (through 2013)

Goal 1: Providing and Enhancing Care and Support

  • We will be the recognized leader in providing innovative services, and serve as an information source on current emerging issues to the general public, health care professionals, and those people and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
  • We will increase diversity by expanding outreach and programs to clients in rural communities and among varied ethnic and socioeconomic groups. In addition, we will strive to increase diversity among our staff, volunteers, committees and Board members.
  • We will continue to provide ongoing, quality educational services with breadth in geography and format, to the entire community, including caregivers, health professionals and business leaders. The Chapter will have created heightened public awareness about Alzheimer’s disease in its service area through a large force of ambassadors/crusaders.

Goal 2: Building Unity and Capacity

  • We will have stable sources of revenue that allow freedom and flexibility to provide needed services and resources to the community in a prompt and effective manner.
  • We will have expanded to provide proportional levels of services to residents of Columbia, Dane, Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland, Rock and Sauk counties affected by Alzheimer’s disease and those who care for them.

Goal 3: Mobilizing Public Support

  • We will be recognized throughout our service area for excellent leadership, dedicated and knowledgeable staff, effective programs, and compassion for those who have Alzheimer’s disease.
  • In collaboration with the Wisconsin Chapter Network, we will be recognized by the people we serve for public policy initiatives that enhance the quality of life for person with dementia and their family caregivers.

Goal 4: Advancing Research

  • We will be considered a major local partner in encouraging eligible persons to participate in dementia research being done primarily in Wisconsin.
