Maintain Your Brain: How to live a brain-healthy lifestyle

Brain health plays a critical role in almost everything we do, from thinking and working to sleeping. Come to learn more about how your brain works and the latest tips on improving brain health for the active life you lead. So many advances have been made recently, we have every reason to be hopeful for a cure, especially if we all maintain our brains today. Thinking ahead now might make all the difference tomorrow.

The Alzheimer’s Association, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s research, care and support, will present this workshop that includes interactive exercises, colorful audiovisuals, and comprehensive materials to take home for further reading. Meeting of Minds is an engaging program for people with early stage memory loss. It is designed to help group members maximize cognitive function and sustain quality of life. Specific activities include memory enhancement activities and intellectual exercises, tai chi-based exercise, and opportunities for creative expression. There is no fee. To participate, you must have a diagnosed case of mild memory impairment from your doctor. Powerful Tools for Caregiving is designed for family caregivers (not professional caregivers) of frail elders or persons with dementia or other chronic disease, long-term illness or disability. Learn skills to help you in your caregiving role: reduce stress and guilt, set goals and solve problems, and take care of YOU. Cost is only $10.00 for all six classes and includes The Caregiver Helpbook. Help with respite care available if needed. Advance registration requested.
